Sometimes, barriers can occur that can make accessing counselling services more challenging. Roadblocks to support could include remote geographic location, lack of transportation, childcare issues, hectic work and family schedules, or high levels of anxiety that can make the conventional face-to-face counselling process difficult. It is essential, therefore, to remove some of the barriers that stand in your way in order to receive the appropriate service that you may need. E-counselling can be one of those ways. Therapy can be done through email correspondence or video conferencing (ex. Skype) and can be helpful in supporting individuals who may be facing these barriers. Extra efforts will be made to ensure confidentiality and security of information being shared.
